Pretty dependable car with little to no issues
By Hippy | on Thursday, July 16, 2020
I bought this car with around 175 thousand miles and I'm close to 183 and I've had basically no issues with this car aside from normal ware and tare. I've only had to get new brakes and rotors since I've had it. No engine problems at all. Very dependable car, drives 4 hour round trip twice a week on top of everyday driving. I get regular check ups and oil changes as did the owners before me. Good 3800 motor in it. Nice smooth comfortable ride… - 4.0
Fun car wonder why there weren’t so many made

I bought my 06 gxp burgundy chrome rims back in March of 19... had 103k miles 3 owner for 5000$. Was 20 years old so definitely a fun fast nice looking car for me. Tranny would get super hot over 220 degrees (there’s a digital gage for it) ended up getting a tranny cooler put on but was too late because a month later my tranny blew with 119k. Got a rebuild for 2600 50k mile warranty. Had a couple lines replaced over the year. Bought tires and brakes , oil change every 3k. 400$ Monroe struts all around replaced, sway bar links. Had wheel hub assembly’s replaced on both front side, 300$ each, and water pump recently done for 500$. Has the ls4 v8 5.3 so also got a custom exhaust and got a remote tune by JOATS. Disables the annoying DOD which is basically an old outdated eco mode that can make it use 4/6 cylinders depending how you drive. Car is fun but once they got over 100k you’re bound to get into problems and not all parts for this car are cheap, car is rare and fun. 3/5 stars in general… - 5.0
Love my Pontiac!
By CMC | on Saturday, June 19, 2021
I bought my 04 Grand Prix in 2005 with 67k miles when I graduated high school. It’s somehow still going.. I’m not going to lie, I’ve put this car through A LOT, from accidentally setting it on fire, by dropping oil on a hot engine when topping fluids, to driving it through flood water (sucked water in), to one car accident… Still going at 249,768 miles. It’s very spacious, I’ve carried toilets in it, doors, bags of cement, cement boards, bags and bags of dirt, it’s my work horse. My transmission started doing some odd stuff last year, but it had a twisted gasket that caused a small tranny fluid leak. Fixed that and it’s been acting normal ever since. Not sure how I’ll ever get rid of it, it’s been extremely reliable. Long live the Pontiac!…
